Water tours: There are a few options when it comes to water tours in the Charleston area. Tour goers can tour around the Charleston Harbor, take a ferry to Fort Sumter, enjoy sailing tours, dinner cruises and speed boat tours. The most popular water tours are the Harbor tours and the Fort Sumter tour. The Harbor tour is a narrative boat ride through the harbor of Charleston. The Fort Sumter tour also includes a narrative boat ride but the focus is on the first shots of the Civil War and Charleston’s history with the Civil War. With this tour the boat will dock on the Fort and allow people to walk around and explore the ruins of this historic landmark.

Historic Plantations: Charleston has quite a few beautiful Southern plantations to explore and see. Most of these plantations are located between West Ashley and Summerville off of highway 61. These plantations are Middleton Plantation, Magnolia Plantation, and Drayton Hall Plantation. Each offer beautiful landscapes and historic plantation homes. Mount Pleasant also features Boone Hall Plantation located off of Hwy 17. This plantation gives visitors a chance to pick fresh fruit and vegetables at all times during the year. Ghost Attractions: Many will claim that Charleston is a haunted city – especially the people at Bulldog Tours! With the rich amount of History in Charleston, there are many ghost tours around town. Some of these tours include walking through old dungeons or jails from the early 1800s as well as narrative walking tours where guides tell ghost stories about the area.
